General FAQ
The most common questions about accounts, workspaces, teams, and how the pieces of Hark fit together.
Answers to the questions new teams ask most about how Hark works overall.
What is a workspace?
A workspace is your organization inside Hark. Everything you create (inboxes, conversations, boards, articles, widgets, team members) lives inside it and is isolated from every other workspace. The person who creates it becomes its primary owner.
What is the difference between a team member and a customer?
A team member is staff: someone who signs in to the workspace app to work customer conversations and configure the product. A customer is an end user: the people who reach your public surfaces (the chat widget, portal, boards, roadmap, changelog, status). One person is only ever one customer record, even if they arrive as a guest first and register later.
Do customers ever see the internal app?
No. Customers only ever see the public surfaces you expose. The inbox, live console, analytics, and settings are staff-only, gated by role.
Can one person belong to more than one workspace?
Yes. A login is a single principal that can be a member of different workspaces; each membership carries its own role.
What makes Hark different from stitching separate tools together?
One identity, one timeline, and one set of objects. A feedback post and the ticket your team works are the same record seen from two sides, so there is nothing to sync and no context lost at a handoff. Read What is Hark for the full picture.
